You can tell a lot about a man by the neck of his shirt.
Video reel, clothing collection, retail display structures.
2015-ongoing.
You can tell a lot about a man by the neck of his shirt takes as a starting point the enigmatic sequence of events relating to sex & death, occurring at Beijing’s UNIQLO retail outlet in August 2015. The investigation has produced an array of elements including a clothing collection, retail display structures, and an ongoing video reel featuring a music video made in collaboration with Chengdu rap crew Higher Brothers for their track 'Cosplay'. This presentation of the project at Si Shang Art Museum responds to a provocation in the tagline for the Fall/Winter 2016 UNIQLO LifeWear campaign, 'Why Do We Get Dressed?'.
