The Bends

Virtual reality experience, in collaboration with Samuel Walker, Oculus rift [incl. audio and video compositions, variable durations], bent steel, chain, glass and vinyl, fountain (steel, cast resin, plexiglass and water pump).
The Bends is a film in eleven chapters, which have been recorded between 2014 and 2015 on three continents. These chapters, breaking any kind of linear narrative system, can be viewed in any order. This was the first presentation of the project, in the form of a virtual reality experience. A soundtrack was produced in collaboration with Curtis Mclean, and early excerpts from the film were placed in virtual space. In physical space, the viewer encountered a steel mannequin, a supercomputer coffee table and a water fountain.
